The HR Employee Success Associate contributes to the mission of BetterUp by supporting and leading key projects that will focus on operational excellence and help BetterUp continue to grow, scale, and drive employee success across our global teams. As a key advocate for bolstering both employee and manager capabilities, you will help streamline core frontline HR processes related to in-role performance support, employee relations, and overall workforce engagement. You will demonstrate your ability to work in a global and cross-functional team environment and be part of a high-growth start-up environment. Through strategic people programs (ex: org design, career planning, employee retention) and partnering with our HR Operations Team (who supporting BetterUp employees from an operational view), you will be tasked with supporting the foundation for a center of excellence around what it takes for our leaders and their direct reports to feel supported, challenged, and cared for across all of BetterUp.
What you’ll do:
Enable business growth by ensuring an engaging work environment and high-performance culture where employees can do their best across global teams
Support managers and roster management initiatives, including performance management, internal mobility, and overall employee development
Be an emerging consultant and confidant to leaders and people managers; Translate business needs into People programs
Provide advice on intricate employee relations challenges, ensuring a fair and respectful workplace. Conduct thorough investigations ensuring a balanced approach and compliance with legal standards
Partner with L&D to co-facilitate training programs in employee relations, employee/manager-facing topics, and performance management.
Be a champion of the employee lifecycle and partner with HR Business Partners to ensure support at scale, including employee transfers, compensation changes, and offboarding
Compile insights on retention and employee experience to proactively recommend improvements
Exhibit project management skills and ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment (technology industry experience a plus)
Proactively assess team and manager development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions
If you have some or all of the following, please apply:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business, and/or related field
3-4 years of relevant HR experience, with at least 2+ years of experience in an employee relations capacity working through complex situations and escalations, preferably in a product/tech or professional services organization
Experience conducting workplace investigations and managing HR compliance issues
Clear demonstration of strong judgment, coaching, influencing, and problem-solving
Self-driven, autonomous, and a team player
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to analyze data, understand trends, and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis
Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Highly resourceful and comfortable working with ambiguity
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Workday HRIS Experience a Plus +
SHRM/PHR or additional HR-related credentials/certifications a Plus +

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable) and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this role is $74,000.00 - $106,000.00

$85,000.00 - $106,000.00: New York City
$74,000.00 - $92,000.00: Albany, Buffalo, Nassau, Newburgh, Rochester
