As a Senior Sales Engineer, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process, showcasing our product, guiding prospects through technical evaluation, and playing a critical role in helping them envision how Tacton can transform their operations. This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL.
Solution Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on Tacton’s CPQ platform, clearly articulating features, benefits, and use cases.
Customer Discovery: Partner with Account Executives to understand customer pain points and tailor presentations and demos to meet specific business needs.
Product Demonstrations: Deliver compelling product demos that bring our technology to life and highlight its business value.
Pre-Sales Engagement: Guide prospects through the technical aspects of the sales cycle, addressing questions and concerns around functionality and integration.
Consultative Selling: We act as strategic consultants, aligning our solutions with customer goals and advising on best practices.
Proof of Concept (POC): Lead POCs that validate our fit and value in complex customer environments.
Technical Leadership: Manage technical engagements across your accounts, ensuring seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
5+ years in a sales engineering or technical pre-sales role, ideally within SaaS, CPQ, or complex B2B software
Strong understanding of sales processes, pricing strategies, and product configuration in the manufacturing space
Outstanding communication and presentation skills—able to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Proven success supporting sales teams and driving deal progression
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Experience with CRM platforms like Salesforce and familiarity with CPQ systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset
