Job Description

As a Lawn Care General Manager, you will oversee and manage all lawn care operations within our company. This role involves planning, organizing, and coordinating the day-to-day activities of our lawn care teams to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery. You will supervise staff, manage schedules, maintain equipment, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Management:
    • Responsible for interviewing and hiring employees.
    • Supervise, train, and mentor lawn care technicians and crew members.
    • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on skills and workload.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
    • Work with Business Development Managers for sales goals.
    • Work closely with Marketing team to develop any new material to help market the business.
  • Operations Oversight:
    • Plan and schedule lawn care services, including fertilizing, weed control, and pest management.
    • Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and company standards.
    • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
    • Develop efficient routes for service delivery to optimize productivity.
    • Oversees budgeting requirements, including with Marketing for sales goals.
    • Collaborate with chemical suppliers to leverage best prices and overall deals.
  • Customer Relations:
    • Respond to customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and address service-related issues promptly.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
    • Identify opportunities for upselling services to existing customers.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of service.
    • Conduct regular inspections of work sites to ensure workmanship meets company guidelines.
    • Address any quality issues or deficiencies promptly and implement corrective actions.
    • Travel to various branches monthly to ensure standards are met outside of the Hazleton Office.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Coordinate maintenance and repair of lawn care equipment.
    • Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and properly serviced.
    • Evaluate new equipment and tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Reporting and Administration:
    • Prepare operational reports, including productivity metrics, expenses, and revenue.
    • Monitor budgetary targets and control costs to maximize profitability.
    • Assist in developing and implementing operational policies and procedures.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings during peak seasons.
  • Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment.
  • Dedication to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in an industry related field
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • At a minimum, this position requires at least five years of upper-level management experience in the construction, railroad, vegetation management or greens industry.
  • Previous supervisory, budgeting, operational, facility, and subordinate development experience preferred.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills, be a team player, and have excellent communication skills.
