At DroneDeploy, we thrive in a remote-first culture, powered by innovation. Growth is limitless, and employee contributions matter. With accolades as a Best Place to Work in the SF Bay Area and a spot on America’s Best Startups list, our team is dynamic, purpose-driven, and dedicated to delivering top-tier reality capture software. We cultivate an environment of opportunity. Our dynamic growth is fueled by the diverse range of ideas nurtured by our team. This is why our commitment to internal advancement is profound. A multitude of paths for professional and personal development are available, where flexible schedules, family-friendly benefits, and remote work options propel our team's journey.

Role Overview:

If you're energized by customer conversations, passionate about jobsite tech, and motivated by building community in the real world and online — you’ve just stumbled into your next adventure.

We’re looking for a Community Field Manager to join our high-impact Community Team — a uniquely cross-functional group within Marketing focused on connecting project teams, connecting companies, and creating meaningful in-person experiences. From project site visits to DeployDays (regional roadshows), our flagship Horizons event, and community-led podcasting — our team brings the field closer to DroneDeploy and DroneDeploy closer to the field.

You’ll play a critical role as the “on-the-ground” presence for our brand — engaging directly with users, surfacing the stories that matter most, and translating raw field conversations into content, connections, and insights that move the business and our customers forward.

This is a fast-paced, field-facing, people-first role. You’ll thrive here if you’re naturally curious, self-motivated, and excited to work in the ambiguity that comes with building something new. We’re entrepreneurial, iterative, and deeply focused on impact — and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent DroneDeploy in the field by visiting customer projects, coordinating community engagements, and capturing the real-world stories of innovation happening across the industry.
  • Synthesize insights from field visits and customer interactions into actionable themes, helping influence content strategy, product priorities, and market messaging.
  • Collaborate with internal teams — including Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Sales, and Solutions Engineering — to surface relevant customer stories, product feedback, and field trends.
  • Actively contribute to our online community platform — driving conversation, sharing stories, and surfacing peer-to-peer knowledge across our practitioner communities.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of community field events, including DeployDays, Horizons, and customer in person meetups.
  • Capture video and photo content on-site; contribute to content ideation and creation to support marketing campaigns, social media, or training resources.
  • Support and guest-host on the Built Different Podcast, amplifying customer voices and helping grow DroneDeploy’s reach across the industry.
  • Log and track community engagements as touchpoints, connecting your work to the business objective of Net Revenue Retention (NRR) via attribution analysis.
  • Help shape and scale what community means at DroneDeploy by bringing fresh ideas, iterating quickly, and embracing new ways to connect with our users.

Requirements:
  • Background in construction, field operations, reality capture, or a related software industry (e.g. former Project Engineer, VDC Specialist, Field Engineer, or Superintendent).
  • Familiarity with the DroneDeploy platform is highly preferred; strong willingness to learn required.
  • Comfortable on active construction jobsites and confident interacting with all levels of a project site team and corporate team.
  • Strong communication and storytelling instincts — both written and verbal — with a passion for video, field interviews, and authentic customer interactions.
  • Experience with lightweight video production, editing, and creative content tools to tell our customers stories.
  • Comfortable speaking on camera and podcasting in a guest-host capacity.
  • Familiarity with community platforms or forums; capable of driving online engagement and dialogue.
  • Curious about metrics and impact — and motivated to see how your work connects to measurable outcomes.
  • Willing and able to travel monthly (2-4 days once a month); proximity to a major airport strongly preferred.
  • Based in Central or Mountain Time ideal (Dallas/Fort Worth preferred), but open to remote candidates.

Outcomes you'll drive:
  • Net Revenue Retention (NRR) and account expansion tied to community-engaged accounts.
  • Engagement and satisfaction across our product user and practitioner-led communities.
  • Volume and quality of community touchpoints tracked.
  • Field content production and usage across marketing and sales.
  • Participation in both in-person and virtual community experiences.
  • Customer feedback loops that inform product and marketing strategies.

What success looks like in this role:
  • Customer teams are genuinely excited to see you show up — and internal teams actively rely on you to bring back real, nuanced insights from the field.
  • You’ve helped turn casual conversations and site visits into meaningful content, authentic connections, and measurable business impact.
  • You’re seen as a trusted presence in the community — both online and in person — and as a go-to source for field-informed storytelling and advocacy.
  • You’re a driving force behind increased visibility and adoption of community insights across Sales, Marketing, and Product.
  • You’ve helped make our events, podcast, and field programs more engaging, influential, and valuable — with a strong correlation back to business results.
