For nearly 60 years, LINK Unlimited Scholars has been a Chicago-based institution working to
change the trajectory of high-potential Black youth by providing unique programming in the
classroom and beyond. Our Scholars complete a four-year fellowship that includes academic
enrichment, leadership development, career exposure, and college access to move them to,
through, and beyond college. LINK offers the necessary backing to help close the opportunity
gap and further ensure economic stability for our Scholars.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our leadership team in a contractual
position. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and
initiatives aligned with our organizational mission. The ideal candidate will have a strong
background in nonprofit HR management, with expertise in employee relations, talent
acquisition, and organizational development.
Minimum 2 day onsite, max of 4 days: Number of days will be determined by hours needed
$32/hr (10 – 30 hrs a week)
Track time usage and work assignments - reported monthly with invoice submission
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management,
compensation, benefits administration, and employee relations
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs that support our
organizational culture and values
- Manage employee relations issues with sensitivity and discretion, providing guidance to
managers on conflict resolution and performance improvement
- Lead talent acquisition efforts to attract and retain diverse, mission-driven professionals
- Administer benefits programs and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance staff capabilities and promote professional
growth
- Partner with leadership to foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture that aligns with our
mission
- Maintain HR records and prepare reports for leadership and the Board of Directors as
requested
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

Requirements
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management role
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations and conflict resolution
- Prior experience working in nonprofit organizations
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office suite
