Purpose of role
To support the Partners and Capital Markets Practice Lead with implementation of the Capital Markets team’s global strategy (a growth strategy in terms of revenue, products, and geographies). Key to this will be overseeing this team’s work in the Client Assets sphere across the jurisdictions in which Bovill Newgate operates. Important also will be identifying other areas where the MC and their reports can contribute, whether this is through supporting other teams with their strategy or through identifying new opportunities.
Specifically, this could include but is not limited to:
Advising the Practice Lead on the Capital Markets team’s strategy
Executing this strategy on a day-to-day basis e.g., through overseeing business development efforts for key team initiatives, looking to use the full suite of tools available to grow our market share
Leading client engagements, taking responsibility for delivery while also escalating to the Practice Lead where needed
Providing specialist advice on complex areas of regulation, being in some areas an individual who can sign off advice (e.g., CASS)
Managing your team in a manner that is commercial and conducive to their wellbeing and growth
Responding to the team and Bovill Newgate’s broader needs i.e., being willing to take on new challenges where your colleagues need help
Friendly, enthusiastic and willing to learn.
Able to lead a team and work alone as needed.
Clear and articulate communicator with the ability to adapt to different environments and personalities.
Commercial in keeping an eye on how they best spend their time and how best to use their team’s time to advance the firm’s goals.
Compassionate in dealing with colleagues and clients, understanding that an individual’s wellbeing should be a priority.
