Position Title: HR Generalist
Location: Rochester Hills, MI
Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite
Reports to: Controller

Job Summary:

 We are seeking a dedicated and trusted Human Resources professional with a strong generalist background to join our team. This individual will play a key role in supporting a wide range of HR functions while fostering a loyal, people-first culture across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong experience across payroll, labor law compliance, employee relations, talent acquisition, and performance management—paired with a genuine commitment to long-term growth and alignment with company goals. Key Responsibilities:

  •  Independently manage payroll and timekeeping processes with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts, from job posting to onboarding, in collaboration with department leaders.
  • Develop and implement effective hiring strategies to meet evolving staffing needs.
  • Guide new employees through a seamless onboarding experience, setting the stage for long-term success.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee relations, fostering a respectful and supportive workplace culture.
  • Provide expert advice on conflict resolution, performance challenges, and disciplinary matters.
  • Oversee the performance management cycle, ensuring timely feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and leave programs while ensuring legal and policy compliance.
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date HR records and ensure accurate documentation across all processes.
  • Analyze HR data and metrics to support strategic decision-making and continuous organizational growth.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on HR generalist experience, with demonstrated ownership of key HR functions.
  • 3+ years of payroll and HRIS administration experience; familiarity with Paylocity is a strong plus.
  • Solid understanding of employment laws, compliance standards, and HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic environment while balancing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and navigate sensitive employee matters.
  • Demonstrated success in managing recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance cycles, and benefits administration.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment in complex situations.
  • Proficiency in HR systems, payroll software, and Microsoft Office tools.
