Colorado Learn-to-Bike Camp Counselor

For 20 years, Avid4 Adventure has empowered kids to live active outdoor lifestyles through our unique outdoor programming.  From teaching youth to ride a bike for the very first time to guiding experienced campers through multi-day backpacking expeditions, our Summer Instructors lay the foundation for a lifelong love of adventure. In turn, our team members gain invaluable mentorship and training in outdoor sports, youth development, leadership, and Leave No Trace principles. We are hiring Learn-to-Bike Instructors for the following Colorado locations:

  • Golden

  • Washington Park

In this role you will

  • Co-lead daily outdoor programming helping aspiring cyclists ages three and a half to six learn the joys of self-sufficient cycling in our half-day camp

  • Organize and participate in camp programming, ranging from outdoor sports to camp games and rituals

  • Follow and educate campers on safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants

  • Serve as a role model and guide campers by exhibiting appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to parents and all participants in our programs.

Your Background 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age before the start of camp

  • +1 years of experience working with kids in a professional or volunteer setting preferred

  • Experience with kids ages 3-6 in a personal, professional or volunteer setting strongly preferred

  • Personal biking experience recommended, but not required 

Important Details

  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am - 12pm, approximately 20 hours a week 

  • Position Duration: Training begins May 17 or May 24, location depending; day camp programs run from May 27 or June 9 through August 8 or August 15, location depending

  • Compensation: Pay is determined based on position, additional responsibilities, relevant certifications, and staff tenure. Starting hourly are below: 

    • Instructors: $18.81/hour

    • Relevant Certification Bonuses: $125 - $400 per certification (up to $1,000)
