Job Description

The Program Director reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Program Director will lead planning and implementation activities for the Primary Care Service Line at Northwestern Medicine. This will include managing a portfolio of strategic and operational initiatives of importance to the organization. The Program Director will collaborate with local operations to assure activities are tracked, tools are utilized and appropriate support and education is available. The Program Director will effectively communicate at all levels of Management and will work closely with managers, directors and VPs to achieve the departments strategic goals and objectives and support successful management of daily operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop short and long term strategic plans for Primary Care operations
  • Curate relationships with leadership to ensure timely and appropriate communication
  • Responsible for providing leadership to a portfolio of key initiatives and projects through active engagement of NM Executives and all stakeholders
  • Sets explicit priorities, establishes effective action plans, and anticipates obstacles and alternatives for challenging but realistic work goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and mobilize an organization by strategic thinking, decisiveness, enthusiasm, competence and integrity.
  • Demonstrate the ability to deal with the changing environment and to lead/facilitate and manage change efficiently and effectively where appropriate.
  • Provide proactive, clear, concise and timely communications regarding status of all initiatives and overall performance reporting among team members, NM Executives and vendor partners. Facilitate continuous exchange of ideas, information and developments.
  • Unquestionable integrity, credibility and character with demonstrated high moral, ethical behavior
  • Customer and Subject Matter Focus:
    • Utilizes talents, skills, and knowledge in all assignments for the purpose of delivering excellent service to all team members (NM team, NM Executives, NM affiliates, vendor partners, etc.).
    • Guides preparation and delivery of services by seeking a thorough understanding of subject matter, regulations, specific project requirements, customer requirements, tasks and information needs.
  • Business and Clinical Knowledge:
    • Understands the major business and clinical processes impacted by key technology and compliance initiatives at NMHC.
    • Advocates the effective use of effective and proven project management methodologies, management techniques, and budget management techniques to manage defined project objectives on-time and on-budget.
  • Personal Organization and Adaptation:
    • Responds thoroughly and promptly to customer needs as defined in conjunction with our customers.
    • Actively manages customer/peer relationships and quickly identifies issues follows them through to closure, using oversight guidance as needed.
    • Adapts well to rapid change and multiple, demanding priorities.
    • Seeks to improve talents and skills consistent with overall NMHC direction.
  • Team/Interpersonal:
    • Communicates clearly, responsively, and purposely with all team members.
    • Focuses on team success and promotes collaborative efforts with others.
    • Shifts easily among different business, technical, clinical and financial topics and project roles as required by situation.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 8-10 years industry experience.
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, demonstrated analysis and problem solving skills, excellent oral and communication skills, demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers and constituents at all levels of the organization.
