Join Aprio's Learning and Development Team, and you will help clients maximize their opportunities.  Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Learning and Development Manager to join their dynamic team.

 

Aprio’s Learning and Development (L&D) Manager leads the firm in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating market-leading talent development programs for all non-executive career levels, from intern to director. This strategic role co-develops Aprio’s leadership and professional development vision alongside the Sr. Manager, Talent Development, and the Chief Learning Officer. The L&D Manager plays a pivotal role in developing and activating the firm’s leadership framework, overseeing instructional design processes, and shaping firmwide talent and career development efforts. 

 

This team member must be flexible, highly collaborative, and demonstrate strong detail orientation. Addressing challenges requires a strong degree of urgency, critical thinking, and discernment. The L&D Manager must be an effective delegator, executing work through others.  The incumbent must have a strong working knowledge of adult learning principles and related topics such as instructional design, change management, organizational development, coaching, strategy, and leadership development. Interpersonal and public speaking skills are expected to execute this role effectively. The L&D Manager must build relationships quickly and navigate Aprio’s growth culture with its dynamic partnership model. 

The L&D Manager reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Talent Development and functions in a hybrid posture. Occasional in-person meetings and travel are required.


Position Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive learning strategies aligned with Aprio's strategy and industry best practices.
  • Conduct thorough learning needs analyses with SMEs and stakeholders to inform training and course development.
  • Facilitate and oversee a wide array of live leadership and professional development live courses.
  • Oversee the design of a highly interactive training and development curriculum following adult learning principles and using a blend of formats (group live, group internet-based, hybrid, and self-study).
  • Foster a continuous learning culture by providing meaningful performance feedback, mentorship, and guidance to less experienced L&D team members, especially direct reports.
  • Oversee team's program evaluation efforts, prioritizing data-driven metrics, feedback, and assessments to make continuous curriculum improvements.
  • In partnership with L&D leadership and Learning Operations, propose, execute, and reforecast programs within budget based on business needs and priorities.
  • Establish and nurture high-quality and cost-efficient partnerships with training vendors and content providers to negotiate contracts supporting L&D initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of business, process, and skill needs, ensuring developmental opportunities remain relevant and delivered in the most effective format or shifting based on Aprio's evolving needs.
  • Research and implement lthe atest trends and best practices in learning and development to provide team members with the most relevant development opportunities to thrive in their careers.
  • Work closely with L&D leads to align training initiatives with objectives and 
  • Act as an internal consultant, assess needs and create appropriate solutions to address gaps.
  • Review training content and materials such as presentations, manuals, e-learning modules, and instructional guides, ensuring alignment with branding standards and NASBA requirements for CPE credits.
  • Develop and oversee Aprio’s mentoring program.
  • Serve as project manager for various L&D programs and ad hoc projects, effectively and efficiently using related software tools.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders to uncover training needs, implement programs, and resolve course development and implementation challenges with SMEs and senior leaders. 


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Education, or a related field is required.
  • Advanced education, such as a graduate degree or certification, in talent development or instructional design is preferred.
  •  5+ years of experience in demonstrated organization, time management, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate on a diverse team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • 5+ years of experience partnering with leaders and subject matter experts to obtain buy-in, strategize, and deploy training programs that support firm goals and workforce skill development.
  • 5+ years of experience leveraging technology to create diverse training materials, including guides, presentations, videos, and live recordings, fostering a dynamic learning environment.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting in-depth analyses of organizational and developmental needs and requirements, tailoring training programs to align with overarching business objectives and strategy.
  • 3+ years of experience applying the ADDIE model and other learning theories to develop, design, and deploy training, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • 3+ years of experience evaluating training program effectiveness through metrics, feedback, and assessments, making continuous improvements based on insights.
  • 3+ years of experience overseeing a mentoring program.
  • 3+ years of experience proposing, writing, and enforcing training policies is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience with public speaking, both virtually and live is preferred.
