Recruiting Assistant

The Recruiting Assistant will oversee recruitment across nine office locations of Hachette Book Group, a major trade book publisher. The Recruiting Assistant will help manage high-volume recruitment for positions across locations and job functions, in addition to working closely with the Human Resources department on training and employee engagement initiatives. This professional will assist in identifying and hiring top talent through strategic sourcing and networking efforts, collaborating with business units and HR colleagues to align hiring with business goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist with the recruitment life cycle for positions across multiple locations, helping hiring managers identify a diverse candidate pool, and establishing strong and trusting partnerships with departments by understanding business needs.
· Oversee recruitment efforts for assigned roles (both intern and full-time), including submitting open job requisitions, posting roles on external job boards, phone screening candidates, scheduling interviews, extending offers, assembling offer letters, and checking references.
· Maintain job descriptions and other HR documents on the shared drive.
· Assist in planning HR-sponsored events and other department projects/events.
· Provide scheduling/administrative support for exit interviews, onboarding meetings, etc.
· Support the HR team with various administrative tasks and projects.
· Assist in organizing and attending career fairs and recruitment events.
· Assist with the Summer Internship Program, which comprises over 40 interns nationwide; recruit and orient all interns; coordinate the “Summer Speaker Series” and other intern events.
· Implement onboarding processes, ensuring efficiency and collaboration with the HR team, onboarding team, and hiring managers.
· Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, and a minimum of one year of recruitment experience or an internship in HR.
· Ability to multi-task and manage tasks effectively.
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Strong communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
· Prior experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) such as Jobvite and/or an HRIS system is preferred.
· Interest in the books/publishing industry is a plus.

The compensation for this position is $47,500. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
 
The following benefits are offered by the company: medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life, short-term and long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, critical illness, hospital indemnity, long-term care, health and dependent care FSA, commuter benefit plan, employee assistance program, tuition reimbursement, travel assistance, 401(k), discretionary bonus program, PTO (15 vacation days, 3 personal days, 10 holidays and generous sick leave) and group discounts on auto and home insurance and legal services.
