Job Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Central Storeroom, including tracking and maintaining the inventory of tools, materials, and equipment. This role supports the facility’s maintenance requests by ensuring the availability of necessary items and supporting the work order process.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of inventory and adjusting as needed
Fills orders and issues supplies ensuring proper authorization including staging supplies for maintenance work orders
Verifies incoming orders and organizes supply storage appropriately
Monitors replenishment on stock items and enters requisitions as needed
Maintains tool inventory for production
Leads the cycle counting process for Central Stores and reports exceptions
Supports on-time delivery and production efficiency via accurate inventory management and replenishment
Improves overall operational efficiency and cost savings through accurate inventory management

SCOPE & IMPACT:

This role ensures the accuracy of inventory management, directly contributing to the efficiency of maintenance and production operations. By maintaining organized storage, accurate records, and reliable supply levels, the role supports on-time delivery, operational efficiency, and cost savings across the facility.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent with 0-2 years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, or a related field, or equivalent
Familiarity with MRP systems, inventory management, and equipment spares.
Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain high ethical standards and a professional attitude.
Excellent time management, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access).
Knowledge of production processes and inventory/purchase order transactions.

Commitment to safe work practices
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Experience with inventory management systems and process improvements.
Certification in inventory management (e.g., APICS, CPIM, CSCP)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 25 lbs.
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, varying temperatures, and moderate noise levels.
May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and hearing protection.
