HR Due Diligence & Integration Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources (HR) Due Diligence and Integration Manager oversees all human resources aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including conducting thorough HR due diligence on potential acquisitions, developing and executing integration plans to seamlessly transition employees, and ensuring a smooth post-merger employee experience.  The incumbent will oversee communication, change management, and talent retention strategies to maximize the deal's value by efficiently integrating key functions like finance, HR, Information & Technology (IT), sales, and operations in collaboration with these key cross-functional teams.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts comprehensive reviews of potential acquisition targets' HR practices, including employee data, compensation and benefits structures, compliance with labor laws, workforce demographics, and potential risks. 
  • Identifies potential risks and opportunities related to the target company's HR landscape. 
  • Prepares comprehensive due diligence reports summarizing key findings, potential risks, and recommendations for the deal team.
  • Creates clear communication strategies to inform employees about the M&A, including the impact on their roles, benefits, and organizational structure.
  • Creates a detailed post-merger integration plan, including timelines, milestones, responsibilities, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve the desired synergies from the acquisition. 
  • Develops and implements comprehensive change management plans to address employee concerns and facilitate a smooth transition during the integration process. 
  • Leads and coordinates cross-functional teams across various departments (finance, HR, IT, legal, operations) to ensure alignment and effective collaboration throughout the integration process. 
  • Conducts a post-integration review to capture lessons learned and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of HR compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced understanding of HR systems and data analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to identify and resolve HR-related issues.
  • Understanding of employment law and other relevant regulations. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 7 - 10 Years of overall relevant work experience
  • Experience in HR due diligence, Mergers & Acquisitions, or related areas.

Recycling and Waste

We continue to expand our recycling and waste business footprint throughout North America through organic growth and targeted acquisitions. We aggregate materials at scale, unlocking new opportunities for advanced recycling. In addition, we are cross-selling new products and services to better meet our customers’ specific needs.

SUSTAINABILITY INNOVATION

Republic’s recent innovations to advance circularity and decarbonization demonstrate our unique ability to leverage sustainability as a platform for growth.

The Republic Services Polymer Center is the nation’s first integrated plastics recycling facility. This innovative site processes rigid plastics from our recycling centers, producing recycled materials that promote true bottle-to-bottle circularity. We also formed Blue Polymers, a joint venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our Polymer Centers to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. We are building a network of Polymer Centers and Blue Polymer facilities across North America.

We continue to advance decarbonization at our landfills. As demand for renewable energy continues to grow, we have 70 landfill gas-to-energy projects in operation and plan to expand our portfolio to 115 projects by 2028.
