Your Role:
We're on the lookout for an experienced people generalist to join us at Second Dinner. Reporting to the Senior Manager of People, you'll be the superhero of core people operations excellence. This role is crucial for the organization as the first point of contact for all employees, handling payroll for 100+ team members scattered across 20+ states, navigating an array of policy questions, ensuring data integrity, compliance, streamlining HR tools, navigating employee benefits, leaves of absence, and much more.
What You'll Do:
Onboarding / Offboarding
Execute onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a top-notch experience
Propose and implement new procedures for smoother processes
Be the state law expert across all 50 states to ensure compliance
Payroll & Benefits
Ensure timely and accurate bi-weekly payroll processing
Prepare all payroll reporting requirements, from ACA and 401K to EEOC and tax audits
Manage hourly time cards, ensuring local and state compliance
Proactively address routine employee-related inquiries, as well as basic policy and procedure questions
Partner with our PEO to administer employee benefits, including answering employee questions and supporting annual enrollment
Oversee third party payroll provider relationships for contract and temporary employees
Leave Management
Oversee leave management, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, explaining company leave policies, following up with employees to request required forms, and tracking and documenting leaves in our HRIS
Employment Compliance
Maintain personnel files ensuring compliance
Stay current on industry trends and best practices with relevant employment laws and regulations
HRIS Management
Take the reins of our HRIS (TriNet), ensuring accurate data and running ad hoc reports like a champ
Kick off the process to open up entities in new states, working with TriNet to complete the paperwork required
Manage and support system integrations for other HR tools
Other
Help craft our new employee handbook and keep our processes documented in style
Create and update People Operations process documentation, standard operating procedures, help guides, and various other resources to be used within the department.
Support talent management initiatives, including performance management and employee development programs
Help out with DEIB and employee engagement programs
What You'll Need:
Proven experience in overseeing payroll processing, benefits and leaves administration
Familiarity with HRIS systems, experience with TriNet a plus
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, prioritize and adhere to deadlines
Ability to effectively communicate company leave policies and practices, ensuring compliance with the respective laws of each state where we operate
Ability to establish and cultivate relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
Strategic thinking to drive new HR initiatives
Nice to Have, but Not Necessary:
Games industry or start-up tech experience
Experience working with a PEO
Experience supporting a fully remote team
The total compensation for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $80,000 - $130,000 USD + equity + comprehensive benefits + potential for discretionary performance bonuses.
Individual pay within this salary range may span multiple levels within the discipline and is determined by assessed job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training. It also factors in market demands and business needs. The disclosed range is not adjusted based on location and may be subject to change or modification based on business needs in the future. Your recruiter can answer any questions about new hire total compensation during the hiring process.
