Director of HR

The Position

We are seeking an experienced HR leader to develop and execute key people strategies, manage global HR operations, and guide our evolving HR function. You’ll work closely with company leadership and department heads to drive initiatives around compensation, career pathing, performance management, and employee experience.

This is a roll-up-your-sleeves leadership role. We're looking for someone who is both strategic and ready to get involved in day-to-day operations. You’ll be the most senior HR professional in the company, partnering directly with our existing HR Manager to evolve our people strategy.

Immediate focus areas include:

  • Leading the 2025 performance review process and compensation planning

  • Supporting our transition to Deel for PEO/EOR and benefits administration

  • Rolling out our stipends and PTO incentives

  • Building and communicating career frameworks

What You’ll Do

HR Strategy & Leadership

  • Act as a key advisor to leadership on HR strategy, culture, and workforce planning

  • Own and oversee PEO, EOR, and contractor modules in Deel

  • Lead and improve annual performance review and compensation cycles

  • Build and implement career frameworks in collaboration with team leads

  • Partner with managers on retention strategies, performance management, and training

  • Support conflict resolution and act as an escalation point for employee matters

  • Develop HR policies that align with Hubstaff’s values and remote-first culture

Compensation, Benefits & Compliance

  • Lead 2026 compensation benchmarking and US benefits strategy

  • Own and manage 401(k) plans, health insurance, and other benefits

  • Ensure compliance with US labor laws and maintain updated employee policies/handbook

HR Operations & Workforce Planning

  • Guide long-term hiring strategy and talent acquisition priorities

  • Mentor and support the HR Manager to ensure operational excellence

  • Train managers in effective people leadership and employee relations practices

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role

  • Strong knowledge of US labor laws, benefits, and compensation practices

  • Experience managing PEO/EOR providers (e.g., Deel) in a remote/international setting

  • Proven ability to implement career frameworks, review cycles, and engagement strategies

  • Track record of partnering with senior leadership to shape HR strategy

  • Ability to mentor and develop HR professionals

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience in SaaS or tech companies

  • Exposure to global compensation models and international HR best practices

  • HR analytics and data-driven decision-making background

Location Requirement: Must be US-based and authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Competitive Compensation:

  • USD 140-150K Annual base salary, based on your experience and alignment with our role.
